When did "Pleaded" get overtaken by "Pled" in the media?

I know both can be used, but every single time I hear "Pled" it drives me nuts.

Do I need distracting? grin2

I'm more concerned with peoples attitude. Give me a polite, kind and respectful person with a bad grip on language, over an idiot who speaks the Queens English.....

Steady on guys, letting yourself get wound up by trivialities is not good for the health! smile

You need to be enjoying the way language and life is changing, not getting stressed by it, you're not going to stop it.

It's like farts. People who don't find farts funny condemn themselves to a life of just as many farts, but considerably less pleasure.
