2012 Morgan EVA GT

I have been spending some time organising photographs and I stumbled across these photos I took of the, then new, Morgan EVA GT sports car; I thought the community may enjoy seeing them.

It was an absolutely lovely car in the metal and I, like many, put a deposit down based on seeing this concept vehicle. Unfortunately, and after some time, the decision was made to not put the EVA GT into production.

To this day I cannot help but feel it was a missed opportunity and that the vehicle could have had the potential to open up an entirely new market for the Morgan Motor Company.

I do believe the Aeromax in Liquid Metal illustrates his point perfectly!

Add to that, he penned the original design, which would become the Aeromax, whilst still at Coventry University and sent it to Charles Morgan speculatively, and you have someone with not only great vision but also left a indelible impact on MMC.

I do wish the EVA GT had made into production - it was a beautiful development of the language that Charles, and Chris Lawrence, started with the Aero 8 and felt like a natural evolution of that lineage of the Morgan sports car design.

Eva - I would have bought one. If it was Aero based, I still need that V8 grumble.

I know "complerted" was an inadvertent typo, but during a discussion with my wife, I think it should be a real word. I think it captures the spirit of a failed success. How many beautiful concept cars never make it to production? These were all "complerted" but never got the green light. I can't tell you how many project proposals I have complerted at work but were never given approval.

Hat tip to you, John V6! wine
