Graham and I had a great day out here a while back and loved the Tiger so here is the King Tiger in action in very capable hands at another venue.

I was commissioned into the Royal Tank Regiment in Apr 86 and will be retiring in Jan 26, just short of 40 years of professional interest in tanks. Fortunately I live near the Tank Museum so can always get a fix when I need one. An old boss of mine used to say 'A day without seeing a tank is a day wasted...'

A few years ago my Mum & Dad holidayed in the New Forest and paid a visit to Bovington Tank Mueseum.
He was most put out when wandering around, the tank he had served in was on display there...... "I'm not old enough to have stuff I'm associated with in a museum......"

I may have related this story before thus will cut it short this time... My old pal, was on the opposite side from your neighbour Arwyn, and was the driver of a Sherman which took a hit while crossing a bridge over a river, he had taken the precaution of opening the hatch above his head, and reckons he was blown clear like a cork out of a bottle, the only survivor from his crew, lay on the river bank for days till the Yanks found him. He had a silver pin put in his badly scarred lower leg to repair his broken bone.... He worked as a slater and plasterer till he retired at 65..That generation had to face so very much..
