Not good news for MMC and the potential CX export pricing to the US

As usual the Beeb gets some facts wrong, but apparently the Factory has plans...

I predict a very short life for Trump's Tariffs.

After all, it means that Americans are going to have to eat their own cheese. How long do you think they can hold out under that level of torture?

I cannot imagine a production / assembly of Morgans in the USA.
There is simply a lack of trained personnel. I have a production facility in the USA myself and have had some experience.

I too have run US sites and in general would agree. Plus the components would ship from outside the USA & get hit by tarrifs.

Here’s some AI generated tidbits about BMW manufacturing in the U.S. Unfortunately parts manufactured outside the U.S. will be assessed the tariff.

“The BMW plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina assembles BMW X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and XM Sports Activity Vehicles and Coupes, including their variants, and is BMW's major global production site for these models.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Models Produced: The plant assembles the following BMW models: X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and XM.
Global Production Site: It's BMW's major global production site for these specific SUV models.
Lithium-ion Battery Modules: The plant also produces lithium-ion battery modules for the plug-in hybrid electric vehicles built there, such as the BMW X3 xDrive30e and BMW X5 xDrive45e.
Electrification Focus: The plant is being prepared to assemble fully electric vehicles, with a $1 billion investment to that end.
Plant Woodruff: A new high-voltage battery assembly plant, Plant Woodruff, is being built nearby to supply batteries for the fully electric vehicles.
Largest Automotive Exporter: BMW Manufacturing, with the Spartanburg plant as its core, is the largest automotive exporter by value in the U.S.
Plant Highlights:
The plant assembles more than 1,500 vehicles each day, and up to 450,000 annually.
The plant employs more than 11,000 people.
It includes three body shops, two paint shops, and two assembly halls.
The plant generates about 20 percent of its own power from methane gas and uses hydrogen fuel cell technology to power about 800 pieces of material handling equipment.”

Thank you for that Sportster, phenomenal figures..

I think you have more than enough skilled workers to cope with 200 tiny Morgan's a year rofl it's laughable to think you didn't when NASA exists and it all feeds down and folk seem to have forgotten all about Henry Ford carrot and Enola Gay, bigotry comes to mind people need to look at the pathetic state of UK manufacturing, we have JCB......

Just signed a petition by 38 degrees with a view to boycotting USA goods and buying British wherever possible.

Yes, that’s what I’m reading, estimates are over 5 million protesters, and about everything this administration is doing. There were over 1200 protest events across the country. I think that’s a substantial turnout.
