The weather was unfriendly today, but here's "one I prepared earlier" when I made a pilgrimage to the New Forest Airfields Memorial on a very cold Remembrance Sunday in 2021. If you are down this way do visit the Memorial, as well as some of the 12 (now no longer operational) WW2 airfield sites: Beaulieu, Bisterne, Calshot, Christchurch, Holmsley South, Hurn, Ibsley, Lymington, Needs Oar Point, Stoney Cross, Sway, and Winkton.  More info at e.g. a local historian's website  https://nfww2airfields.info

Yup, all sensors on point in touring mode listening

Touring with Graham is good, he's like a greyhound seeking out POI's once you have a basic frame set thumbs

You might just see the ghosts of a sqadron or two of Mustangs, Typhoons and Thunderbolts -- that would've been quite a sight !

We went to our local church service on Sunday, which is timed to end up outside for a reading of the list of local Servicemen who lost there lives, a surprising number for such a tiny village in the war years

The week before we helped put up the official dedication Poppies on the lamp posts & the names were located as close to where they originally lived, some had two as they were brothers lost.

On a sad note, some nasty scrote stole the big Union Jack and mechanism off the church war memorial flagpole on friday night - but a local chap who's handy with his ladders personally replaced it before the service
