Just read that BB has left the stage ... an icon of an era ... not without her controversies but a fierce advocate for animals.

Does anyone know whether she owned the Morgan she was sometimes pictured with or did she drive it for film purposes?

Over my lifetime have visited Saint Tropez a good number of times .
Went several times in the late 1960s as a reasonably ‘wealthy’ student and enjoyed the place and their famous tarte .
Not BB the patisserie.
In the early 70s I borrowed a Ford Zephyr/Zodiac and towed my speedboat to the place with a good mate. We were a bit ‘Jack the lads’ back then but could only afford a caravan to stay in ! We did give it a bit large on the partying and one night eating at Hotel Byblos we ‘pulled’ . In truth I was my friends wingman ( not that we used that term back then) but we ended up talking to and drinking with a group of older women. They were models and were on some photoshoot and insisted on taking us into The Caves du Roy. They paid for the bottles of spirits and we bought a few beers ……the prices were unbelievably expensive !
Anyway you might now have guessed that BB was in the club , unfortunately not with our girls or table .
It was an unbelievable late night, early morning and sadly a one off.
Later that holiday we got run out of town by some angry husbands but that’s another story and not relevant…….

In the 80s I took my girlfriend now my wife to St Trop in the black 79 plus 8 along with another friend who drove his Porsche928
He was somewhat miffed that everyone looked at the Morgan and never the Porsche
It was a great holiday and we did our first Night Dive (rare back then) from a dive boat with a diver who had taught Brigitte Bardot to dive and knew her well. The girls decided to stay on deck talking and drinking with another handsome French diver !

The other thing that may ring a bell with St Trop goers of a similar age, was that there was always a rather dilapidated Flat rad Morgan parked in the small square just off the harbour. It was about for some years whenever we visited.
Don’t know if others will agree but apart from the traffic St Trop did not change for the worse over several decades, it can still be fun.

Britmog ... great story ... you were lucky ... most exotic place I got hiking with the Scouts was Scarborough where the women mostly looked like Norah Batty!! 🙂.

As a teenager I met BB in Corsica without knowing it. We were on a school trip hiking for two weeks in Corsica, there were 4 of us and we were ahead of the main group hiking on our way to Girolata (which was only accessible by foot or donkey). The track crossed a lovely crystal clear river that ran across a beach, we stopped made our way up the river to find a spot to bathe, as we were swimming in a pool a very attractive lady on a horse came by and asked us what we were doing. We explained we were from England and on our way to Girolata she told us this was her ranch and we were welcome to go with her to see her animals which we did, we spent a few hours at her ranch house as she told us all about her animals and gave us drinks and cakes. We then said goodbye and walked to Girolata about an hour further on, it was not till we got there and had to explain to our leader where we had been that the locals told us it was BB and that was her ranch which she kept very private.

Dem Boots...
Iconic, free-spirited 35 year old Brigitte, posing with a 1969 427, T-Top Corvette. (French plate, Paris registration)
"Classy and Sassy" certainly applied to both of them...

The complete team in her Morgan.

Yes it's Serge Gainsbourg on the first picture and it'sBB who drives so I think it's her Morgan (4 seater - 3 windscreen wipers).
On the second it's her husband, Gunther Sachs but it seems to be another Morgan (only 2 windscreen wipers), seems a 2 seater and it's Gunther who drives so I believe it's not her car.
