Hi guys and girls. New to TM.
Took delivery of my first Morgan plus8 back in august a 2001 4.0l Been my dream car since the early 90’s when a good friend had one. Finally have one and absolutely delighted. Truthfully after owning other classic cars and older V8 TVR’s ( unreliable poorly built but sounded beautiful) I was slightly disappointed with the sound from the back end almost non existent. I appreciate you’ll all be fed up with so many threads about exhausts. But can I ask some advice please. I have not the budget to replace the headers and not personally keen on side exit. I live in the north west Scottish highlands so limited with garages and hearing other plus 8’s. I would really like to hear the V8 roar and the pop and banging on over run. I have spoken with Lebrands and they were really helpful and I understand well respected. The lady suggested I went for medium noise level not the louder one ( from her knowledge only sold one to a gent in Germany). My concern is as I’m only going cat back will this be to quiet. Where I live I won’t offend anyone I drive mainly on mountain roads and hardly any main roads. Have any of you fitted the lebrand cat back med system and tell me what you think. If honest although I’m mid 50’s I still have a boy racer fighting to get out and prefer a louder system but am aware some drone. Any help or recordings of yours be great. Thanks so much hope you have all enjoyed the festive system.

Hi, had my 1999 3.9 for 10 years now and she came to me with the dual Librands Sport exhaust system which is a joyful tune at full chat and overrun popping and banging away. No other modifications to the system and for touring it is plenty loud enough without being too intrusive tbh.
If I had to guess mine is the loud version as I am mutton Geoff and it ticks all my boxes - if you were to order the loud version they have retro fit quieteners they say.

If you want to amplify the exhaust note for very little, you can buy some decat pipes, which you put back on for the MOT, you can also knock out the exhaust baffles in the main silencer with a hammer and steel rod . It won’t sound as good as a complete aftermarket system but better than a standard system. You could also remove the rear resonators and replace with a bit of polished stainless pipe. - effectively leaving you a straight through system as the main silencers area straight perforated tube .’
