I bought my first one in 1973 for £750. A series2 with three spread gearbox and 1172cc. I sold her for £1250 and bought a 4/4 1600 in 1977. I treasured that car and only changed when I desired a Plus8. I asked loads of dealers at the time but could not find one to suit my pocket. Then I was contacted by Bob Harper who offered me a black Plus 8 which turned out to be one of the 24 Lightweights produced in 1976. After owning this for a few years I got fed up with the impracticality and sold it at auction in 1986. I then bought a 911, and over the next 40 years I ran Jaguar XKRs, then a yellow BoxsterS. Finally the cost of maintaining such a car persuaded me to sell and so I had no sports car until three years ago when I bought a Mazda MX5 with 100,000 miles on it but still looked great. However, the draw of a Morgan came back and at the age of 74 I used some pension funds to by a 2005 Plus 4 with 28,000 on the clock. I have had that since last September and love looking at it as much as driving it. I have had it on a small circuit several test days and it performs well. That is my 50 year story. From £750 - £28,000.
