For me also... The pre-'87 Ranger wheel trims are what I had on my first car. How I loved my Polo hatchback as its Tornado red paint slowly turned pink on the bonnet and roof...

I'd not seen your original photos either JT.......impressed! Now then.........bonnet strap? Are you going to fit one? I'd have thought with your fastidious nature you'd not want to risk the paintwork!

I thought it was me. I hadn't seen these photos first time around. They are really impressive as they are. Well done JTL.

I think your efforts have paid off.

I know plenty of folk who keep vehicles in concourse condition. Hard work, but it brings them real joy - which is what it's all about.

Your a dead right I took the strap off yonks ago . As for that Polo it could nip along but felt like it had no brakes yet it still stopped . It had the worlds best heater my left foot used to get red hot wish the mog had one as good, some what like a budgie with a bad cough.

You don't have the 'case of the missing louvres'....!

By that I mean, my traditional has bonnet louvres missing where the strap lies. So it looks dandy without. I reckon mine would look odd without the strap.

You are correct about your bonnet . I went to my first of several classic car places to check it out this a/noon . Never told the chap I was going the look on his face said a lot . I was not impressed at all by his set up so he wont be getting the mog to respray . I found out he has not had a lot or anything to do with mogs . Yet I picked it out of MOG . I dont mind paying that bit extra for someone who goes all the way and puts himself out to do a stunning job. One bloke wanted £10.200 to spray it ( advert in MOG ) but claimed he was starting high and may! come down . I dont fancy it sprayed in gold leaf at that price. On the way back home one hell of a crash on the A66 3 cars one had its offside battered away I crawled back at 60mph after seeing that.
