I am still getting prices one trimmer said on the phone " I will do you a great deal " ? . Phoned y/day £5500.00 to retrim but I supply the leather, send & return the mog thats another £1000.00 on top + cost of the leather . No thank you . One mog dealer told me keep away from this one poor workmanship, nice to have friends who's word I can trust , till I said " I was just checking out prices " . It's narrowing my list down a couple of chaps calling out at tea time to go over the body with me I have a detailed list ( as usual ) to hand them . Then I will arrive without notice to inspect their garage and workmanship in the near future.

These are independants who have nothing to do with the MMC trying to make more than a few bob . I have been saying for a few years that things are tight . In fact very tight and my feelings are that because customer spending is low the ones who are willing to are being asked a higher price , its a risky game to play . I learnt a long time ago 10% of something is better than a 100% of nothing. If the mog has to go a long distance its over a £1000.00 to have it transported and I am unable to keep my eye on the work for fine detail then once its done its done. Thats why I never give MMC a thought .

David I thought you had left a message for just me to read on my profile sorry and Simon too , I got a crossed thread .
Air horns not really I just sat one day at a junction looked up at a 40 ton left hooker and thought he does not know I am here and could crush me if he turns . So I fitted twin tones for overtaking etc as they do abroad . I would say the louder the better and as near to the front as you can get them . I pointed mine downwards so they dont fill with water and any water runs out . You could fit them under the cowl box with a bracket but then they are not pointing down unless you adapt then to . I picked mine up at Holdens . They used to sell Polished Stainless Steel ones but not anymore, TEARS! . You may have to rig the side of the compressor up if you drill a hole in the inner valance but its easy . ( IF I CAN DO IT ANYONE CAN ) . If you spray any engine cleaner it stains the red platic trumpets with white spots so cover them up before you spray .
Thats about all I know should take no more than an afternoon . cheers

Racex do this compact air horn which is very loud and virtually a straight swap for the standard item.

Did you need to add the relay or is there one already on the car?

Well it's slow..... we're having to fabricate the throttle cable anchor point to pull on the linkage that was also difficult to source so that's slowed down the intake side. Radiator is in and partially plumbed in, fuel pump is mounted and partially plumbed in. Head is on, cam and belt, alternator. Cast iron exhaust manifold came off and sent to the states for ceramic coating but found out it was cracked so now it's a Librands SS system which is OK but adds more on the debit side. I plan on picking that up next trip to UK week of 20th March. Hope to have it running in April but expect a lot of sorting out getting it tuned and running properly. I need to find a good Weber man and a rolling road.
