What do the locals make of the Max Chris? - Over here they are as rare as egg laying mammals, but I guess they are even rarer in Aus.

Hi David. They just stare in amazement every time I take it out for a spin - it can be really embarrassing sometimes! Being the only example in Australia (yes it is!) I could see occupants of nearby vehicles getting out their camera phones and photographing it at traffic lights, whilst on the move and even when crawling along in traffic. And someone at a car show even asked me whether it was a kit car as my jaw dropped open..!! Chris

Chris - how about all the type approval hoops that I believe the M3W is currently going through to be legal in Aus.
Presume you have been able to bypass these as a one off personal import?

Hi David. I'm glad you asked! The first Aeros to be allowed into Oz is the Aero 8. The Max, Super Sports (SS) and the Coupe are classed as variants of the convertible Aero 8 - respectively a fastback (Max); a targa/notchback (SS) and a fixed head notchback (Coupe). On the other hand, where just about every country classes the M3W as a bike (which is true in essence), Australia with its senseless import rules (called rather mockingly "Australian Design Rules" and light years behind every other country!) classed the M3W as a car. How bloody daft is that?? The sole importer, Morgan Cars Australia, is on the case and we should hear pretty soon now what the outcome is ...Chris

Well, yes... almost ; but check out the next message in this thread from Gary (4/4 Oz) where he put out a site for the M3W. Those are the changes required before the vehicle can be imported... Chers
