Some years ago I purchased and later built a 1/43rd white metal scale model of the TW Collection Morgan Plus Four Plus. Included in the kit was a photocopied leaflet of a prototype convertible version. It doesn't look quite the same as the one in Ian's photographs at the Heritage Museum - more a roofless version of the original +4+. I did try to find out more to no avail.

Much nicer than the coupe. By now though, it would just look like an old MG and would not have the same fascination as the traditional Plus 4.

To my eye this convertible +4+ looks like a TR4, especially from the side and rear. And it shared the TR4 engine and many other components.
Peter Morgan would have been reluctant to market a +4+ that competed directly with the TR4, since it might infuriate Standard-Triumph which was providing Morgan with TR4 engines.
From the purchaser's perspective, I think most 1960s customers would have preferred a Triumph TR4 with a steel body to a Morgan +4+ with a TR4 engine and a fiberglass body.

Now that I can see the picture, it's clear what it is: pure artistic licence of the scale model designer! It's the +4+ with the roof chopped off! Perhaps with some other changes here and there, but nothing to do with anything produced for/by Morgan.

Even the 1963 Factory advert showing Lady Jane Colwyn posing next to the "+4+" comes with the kit.

Are you saying that the picture of Lady Colwyn with the +4+ convertible is a fake?

The bottom picture definitely looks fake to me. Lady Colwyn's left hand and foot are missing. This wasn't evident from the thumbnail picture but it is clear in the full-sized. Someone cut out a picture of her from a +4+ Coupe advertisement and pasted it onto this a picture of a convertible made from a picture of a +4+ Coupe.
Thus, there never was a full-sized body of a +4+ convertible.

Very appealing concept but as stated, fiberglass body mounted on traditional/flexible Morgan frame would have been very problematic.

She posed for pictures with 869 KAB, which is now in the Factory hall where the offices are (former parts department).
There certainly never was anything like a full sized +4+ convertible.

One could still be created if Uncle Melvyn still has the unused shell.

Luckily this one was built instead..........
