(entry level) Caterham Seven 160
Hi all, What do you think about the (entry level) Caterham Seven 160?  Is the Caterham Seven 160 the right solution to the issue: to have a low buying&maintenance costs and high fun-to drive (second)car? Wondered why not a (entry level) Morgan 3-Wheeler (powered by a mass-production jap engine) or even a (entry level) Morgan 4/4 (powered by the Suzuki engine 3 cil turbo fitted in the Seven 160)? We were on our way from his home to Prescott and as we exited each of a number of roundabouts on a dual carriageway, the tempation to overtake was considerable!!

I have just had a thought.  As Stanley started life as ( just*) a Runabout, it has reduced louvres on the bonnet. So; maybe better aerodynamics?  ps * refers to a comment made by a well known member of the MSCC in the carpark at the 2009 Centenary Celebrations in Cheltenham. He would not have liked to have heard what the lovely Lady Budster thought of him. Though I think her description was probably accurate!

At a recent Devamog meet up in Llandudno onw of the other members pointed out that he has one less louvre on hi right hand bonnet to his left side! Pure individuality! We then started counting the number of louvres on other cars there and there can be quite a variance in the number on a bonnet but I haven't worked out yet whether it is model dependent, year dependent or just how many they felt like punching on the panels that day!!! Poor Stanley - he's not a "just" - he is a Morgan! Well done Lady Budster!

You will see that it has resulted in some hilarious discussion in the past.  ps Referring back to the original subject. Even though I was an employee of Suzuki GB for many years and love the little 657 3cyl (Cappuccino) engine, if it was my Caterham 7, I would choose the Ford Sigma engine. Having driven a 7 with it fitted, it is (IMHO) superb.

Morgans are classics with heritage in my eyes, not a pastiche pandering to the yoof of today (or even tomorrow..) or even a cheap Lotus Seven look-alike or wannabe.
or probably.....because they weren't needed? ..... as all changes quickly in the Global Market, even a little car Company (with heritage)-as MMC is- must, in case, faces up to competitors dangers..... and with regard to your second statement, I believe that, after forty years and more, a Se7en is only a Se7ven....as a Mini is only a Mini.....
