Brooklands Roadster in Prague

Few pics from yesterday presentation of the Brooklands Roadster at Morgan Prague. I preorderd this car, but decided later to go with the oldtimers. But another czech enthusiast used my preorder to order this special Roadster with really special equipment: wire wheels, polished aluminium bonnet, side sport exhaust or aero racing brakes etc. Really nice car, but I don't regret that I prefered the oldtimers smile

Thanks for sharing. I'm still undecided on the polished bonnet.

Saw the painted hood on one in NZ ,think going on looks alone I prefer polished version but was told very hard to keep looking good.

The look is fantastic!

The only way I'd have one is if the bonnet was made from stainless steel, keeping polished aluminium looking good is a nightmare. Keeping the spokes of my steering wheel polished is bad enough!

Also I'd like to see it with the body in matt dark green, to simulate fabric, and the wings in gloss for a truly retro look.

I think they look better with black alloys. The stainless wheels rather clash with the polished alloy bonnet.

The body would look good wrapped in dark green Everflex type material with gloss painted wings....now that would be period Peter!

Everflex, that is the stuff..

So,in conclusion we propose polished Stainless bonnet and cowl, dark green Everflex fabric covered body to match hood and toneau, wings, doors and wheels in gloss dark green and upholstery in dark green leather!

I think it looks brilliant!! Shame it would cost €20,000 in import tax and €2000 per year in road tax here in Ireland ( we have to pay for the bailout somehow!!!!!) - so I'll have to stick with my beloved plus4!!!

Cheers!

The annual car tax I understand, but how can you have "import tax" when you are in the EU and there is supposed to be free movement of goods and services?

When I imported a new car from Germany to the UK I bought it VAT free in Germany hand had to pay UK VAT on importation, but for used cars you don't even have to do that.

Thanks for sharing the photographs Jari of a fine looking special.

That bonnet is going to be high maintenance or do they seal it somehow ?
