More Morgan Geneva Motor Show 2014

A few photos that I took on Monday. Of particular interest are the photos of the new Plus 4 and its engine bay.

Apart from the obvious difference of the air intake system I noted a lot of attention had been given to general tidiness of wiring and a number of small detail improvements such as the small change in position of the water tube near the alternator so that it does not rub the mounting.

Regarding the new motor I noticed it has individual coils mounted on the spark plugs and a relocated dipstick that exits from the cam cover. Another small item on the new Plus 4 is the bonnet struts, and optional extra, that are mounted near the bonnet hinge when not in use.

Thanks to Nick for his hospitality.

Thanks for the photos Peter...you succeeded where MOG Mag did not!

I must try to get to the show next year.

+1 Thanks for the new Plus 4 photos Peter, especially of the engine bay.

The exhaust manifold and integral cat(?) is, IMHO, a little untidy somehow. Looks like a great opportunity for the aftermarket chaps (Williams, et al) to develop a sports exhaust wink

Also, I hope that "cold air intake" is forward of the radiator innocent it's not clear from you photo.

By the look of that its fuel gauge on the left, temp on the right and five warning lamps between - so no oil presure gauge?
Better looking than the previous version and more similar to the 3'7 Roadster.

And it appears that the front bonnet catch position is now standard across the range.

The air intake looks to be an improvement on my old 4/4, which picks up from way behind the radiator and above the exhaust manifold. Don't like the Plus 4 dash layout at all, it seems most of the trads are going to this centralised instrument style- I'd much prefer something more like the Baby Doll, with the major dials right in front of the driver. Yes it goes over the top of the radiator. Makes me wonder if it has a grill to catch bugs and leaves. If not the behind grill mesh would probably be a good idea.

Am I right in thinking that a certain Bank with its HQ in Geneva was not involved in the MMC stand this year? hide
