You even should´nt "polish" a matt paint because you will get shiny spots on the paint, Their gloss will depend on how hard you polished the different areas of the car.
Done by hand you can imagine what´ll be the result...
So you can also forget to wax a matt paint.
I even heard of a car shampoo especially made for matt paint.
Will be a topic for me after finishing the restoration of my Series 2 Land Rover painted in a silk-mat dark green...

Unless the Matt paint is laser speed detector proof I see no benefit. Worse, the additional surface drag is a problem and will reduce speed and increase fuel consumption by a measurable amount! Conclusion: Matt paint is great on army trucks and tanks. Elsewhere is is as pointless as, oh, Formulae 1 Racing!!

The yellow Plus 8 is the 'Plus E' electric Morgan. The paint is standard yellow and the black is simply a decal (vinyl wrap) Surprised they didn't give it to CM as a leaving present.

Silk-matt dark green... NATO camoflage George?  Hi Graham, no, not NATO. The car was delivered in 1959 to the German Border Police ("Bundesgrenzschutz") and is from a special series with steel bodies built by TEMPO in Hamburg (Germany) to meet the very detailled specification sheet of the police. Chassis including engine, gearbox etc. came from Solihull. About 250 were built on Series I chassis and only 2 cars on Series II chassis. My car is the only survivor of the two Series II cars. Hi Jochen, there´s one new matte grey Plus4 in Germany. The guy bought it new a few months ago at a MORGAN dealer in Switzerland. The car is in dakota-grey metallic, an Audi-colour, but in a matte finish.
