Wet Sunday in Port Macquarie

Have a look at this 1969 Series 2 E-type Roadster

Unfortunately, I don't know too much about her provenance, but she is a left hooker, and if you look carefully there is a Principality of Monaco decal on the rear number plate frame. Indeed when I was cleaning her, I found a pair of silk knickers under the passenger seat with "Grace" embroidered on the waist line - bloody hell, I thought, they've just increased the value of this car 4 fold......then I woke up!!

I think it's probably a California car. - I've not done too much to her apart from a bit of body work in the boot, paint renovation and returned her to the original spec triple SU's rather than the underpowered, limp wristed set up that the Yanks insisted on in the late 60's

Will she get more work? - That's a contentious question. Clearly, somebody has done work on her before, and I imagine there is a fair degree of filler here and there (although she's pretty dammed straight). To take her back to metal and potentially unmask 30-50k in renovation work may not (at this time) be appropriate - would be a different story if she was a series 1 or 1.5

Anyhow, she's a nice Sunday driver, low profiles (I can hear the groans from the purists) enhance her "sit" on the road, but you've got to be careful with kerbs and speed bumps, lest you part with the exhaust

Regards

Jeremy

Beautiful. I think the Series 2 is rather under appreciated!

Really lovely....stunning.
I'd much rather have a well sorted E-Type than any modern day supercar....no contest.

We are in Jersey on vacation and it seems that a load of Jag owners are here on a treasure hunt. At least 50% are e-types, many V12.

The sound is great but the smell of unburned petrol in the exhaust brings back old memories. Perhaps I need to swap Aldermog for a nice 1990 +8 so I can smell the petrol.....

It's odd Peter, but I find when I'm behind an old car now I don't like that smell at all and I find myself wondering howcome we didn't care at the time. I mean, it's not as bad as being behind a diesel......but it's not far off.
Yet another advantage of the Mog by the way. In my modern car I'm forever turning on recycle when I'm in traffic but the long bonnet and position of heater intake on Mog doesn't seem to attract the exhaust of the car in front in the same way.

Very much the same here. Would I use it as much as the Morgan, not sure, but I would try.
