Aeroman's Special Project...More Photos
Morgan Motor Company Special Vehicle Projects.
Here are the rest of the photos...showing the complete car. Sorry about the teasers earlier...I just couldn't resist!
I'll leave Brian to tell you more about the car once he's back from Salon Prive. But the photos tell quite a lot about the detail although whilst I peered under the car, it wasn't possible to take any photos. There did appear to be some louvres under there! I knew Brian wouldn't let we louvre counters down! I'm sure he will love to tell you more about the underpinnings.
The Rocket Red is stunning and really shows the car off well...and the scratch from the photographer's ( NOT me or Richard/Redmorgan!) stepladders is well hidden!
The interior highlights all the materials used in a traditional Morgan, with brushed alloy, leather, wood and paint and if anyone is wondering about the centre of the dash....thats an iPad you can see. Bear in mind there is no rear window!!

Interesting comments Claudio. However, my photos don't really do the car justice as I'm sure the guys who've now seen the car in the flesh will agree.
Due to time constraints, the car was only available for a short time at the back of the factory in a very cramped space and I had to use a wide angle lens....not ideal. Standing back from the car, the proportions seem a lot better than the photos.
The big test of the look of the car IMHO is to see it in motion....hopefully not too far away!

Stunning car, Brian, I like the SP1 (based on the 2009 Lifecar), almost in every detail……only some (looking) doubts about the rear end. I must recognize that it is not an easy job to design it…..but I believe that the SP1 rear end is (too) short, high and massive, and not matching the lines of the car.
But only to satisfy my (and perhaps your) curiosity, what’s the new “MSP” Division for? Am I right to answer It was created to manufacture bespoke cars, really special in every detail, works of art, free from the common car-looking expectations, to satisfy who really wants his own car and accepts to wait for a long time? Obviously, the prices of those Special Project cars, manufactured as a one-off or very (very) limited units, might be “sensibly” high, even they’ll represent good value for money (IMHO). Hi Claudio, Sorry for my delayed reply, but I missed your post until it was pointed out to me by another TM'er. Thanks for your positive comments on the car which I appreciate. Regarding the line of the rear roof, MMC now have a CFD programme and the roof line was developed using this as well as the designers input. Whilst the CFD programme Morgan have will not be as complex as those used by the F1 teams, nevertheless it is a most useful tool. When you look at other recent Morgan coupes and examine their aerodynamics using CFD pretty well without exception the roof line has been designed for aesthetics and they do not keep the airflow attached, due to a too severe rear slope. The AeroMax is a case in point, the sideways profile of the car is svelte, but aerodynamically it does not keep the airflow attached at the rear and thus the sloping rear actually creates lift! The Aero SS/GT is even worse with the rear boot line acting as a wing, I know from personal experience that the AeroMax has a 10+mph top speed over and above the Aero SS due to running them separately on different occasions at VMax at Bruntingthorpe. Likewise the rear slope of the LifeCar, although the car was never driven in anger, is aerodynamically flawed with the rear creating lift, hence the different rear line on SP1. I hope this explains it for you, but before deciding on the aesthetics of it I would ask that you see SP1 in the flesh, as I think that physically it works better than in photos. The Morgan Special Project unit has been set up to build one off's, as per SP1, but also to carry out revisions to current models on behalf of clients and lastly, to develop new models about which I must be silent!  I agree it is a very positive development for MMC and I know that several customers have some very interesting ideas for projects. Whether they will come to fruition when they are given a price is another question... Lastly, I have enjoyed some of your designs on TM and look forward to seeing your idea of an SP that Morgan could build? Cheers Brian

Claudio I would also add to Brian's comments after having had the privilege of seeing SP1 in the flesh at the factory that as good as the pictures are they don't do this car justice. Also, when viewed under the spot lights the shadowing effect with the design was stunning. As Brian has said this is his dream and others, deep pockets permitting, can achieve theirs too.
Likewise, I've also enjoyed seeing your design interpretations too - keep them coming!
