A friend of mine visited the bridge where the bungee jumping started (NZ I think). He was 'getting on' when he jumped, but has no fear. He's well over six feet and carrying some timber (not excessively so).
Looking down into the river he asked the attendant if he would get wet. The attendant looked him up & down and said "Well, your socks should stay dry".

He was advised to put his fist over his head to break the surface, and to jump outwards to reduce the chances of a soaking. He made it without getting wet.

The woman in front had donned all the kit but bottled out on the edge.

Dave the swing bridge ( it swings from side to side ) is also called the low Level bridge you can see it just behind the Tyne bridge painted red . About 10ft off the water . Hence high enough for me to Bungee jump . ooo

Doesn't that depend on the length of your knicker elastic?

I expected the Sydney bridge to be the same size as the Newcastle one but it is huge in comparison.

As I wear glasses gives me a good excuse not to do it! However if I took them off couldn't see anything which may tempt me to do something like this in future what you don't see you don't worry about!

Both built by the same company, Dorman Long in Middlesbrough, which is why they look so similar. Sadly DL has long closed down.
