Sorry to hear that Ruut. It makes one very angry and upset to have such a thing happen. Not what you expect at a motor show and least of all in Switzerland.

Most disturbing factor is that I was pickpocketed just before approaching the Morgan stand, which costed me almost one hour to block all my credit and debit cards in the Netherlands, then go for the Morgan stand, because that was one of the reason to go there....! They would close the barrier just before me, but a little agitated I asked permission for a Morgan owner / driver / member of the MSSC and MSCCH to enter the stand. They immediately let me in...!
After that it costed me a journey to the police on the airport for giving it on, and lots of work for the back home crew to transfer money to the Western Union Bank for some cash. If you don't have any plastic left. Lessons for the future! Tonight, we had a wonderful diner, and the return ticket by KLM tomorrow is already payed for....!
Photographs to come. Much to arrange back in the Netherlands, my drivers license is gone too, together with the dutch public transport guide. Sic!!!!!!

was it worth the effort and the hassle?

Well, yes. In the beginning a bit difficult not to spoil the rest of our stay. We had seen already a lot and were proceding to Morgan, and planned BMW and MB after that. So we skipped the part after Morgan, and did all the further arrangements with police and picking up money from Western Union. The weather was lovely, as is the scenery in Geneva, so we visited some terraces, drunk bear and wine and chose a nice restaurant for a good diner, with a fine bottle of red wine. As I was with my Son we had good father and son discussions, and we concluded that we had a good time overall. Next year we do it over once again, and than everything is supposed to go smoothly!

Thank you Peter! I think those ......... people exist everywhere, and they are searching for places where it is extremely crowdy. Lessons to learn! Normally a leave all my belongings in the save in my hotel room, and just take some money and 1 card with me. But our hotel had no safe, and so sometimes you take the less wise discissions. So, never again! But afterwards it's always easy..... So it's better to be angry for this criminal who did this to me, instaed of blaming myself. I'll try to post some pictures from the show, but at this time I'm sitting in the train taking me from Schiphol to Sittard!

Sorry about the loss Ruut.
Pickpockets tend to work in gangs and target areas/ events.
When on a cruise they had a chap doing a show about pickpocketing. He was Dutch I think and advises police worldwide.
It was scary stuff, including " minders" with knives to protect the pickpockets etc.
I was one of his stooges on stage and he took my mobile quite easily, also others watches. A case of distract and steal......
He showed some eye opening videos where he set himself up as a target and got to interview pickpockets.
He gave tips for security, these being..
Try to dress like a local...!
Wear tight trousers with minimum of valuables in front pockets...
Money/card in a puch down the front near your " other valuables"!
Be VERY careful of confronting anyone due to minders, especially in some countries, he mentioned Eastern European countries where they are particularly ruthless..
The main thing is you were able to carry on with your visit.
Lucky you, I would love to have been at Geneva.

I thought I heard somewhere in the babble that there's an option for the switch panel on the dash to be replaced by a LCD touch screen. This would satisfy the techies and the US rules for mandatory rear cameras. The blue car obviously has the switches. Anyone have a pic of the silver car's dash??
