Details of spare wheel secure

First: Appologize my english!

The idea for this part was to secure the T-handle/ spare wheel (a little bit) in a nice looking way.

The spare wheel should be secured:

- Only if it is „required“ to be secured.

- in a nice looking way ( if secured or not secured). This means with stainless steel parts/ chrome plated parts.

- the t-handle/ spare wheel should be secured or unsecured in „seconds“! Without needing any tool.

- the luggage carrier should not be reduced in his stability

- The Parts should be (later) removable so that the carrier looks like just made from Morgan

- the parts should not rattle (means no more than any other part on a morgan. Therefore I had to order an stainless steel adapter fitting to the block lock I wanted to use! ;-)

As I wrote: This is a part for someone who wants it! All Morganeers who do not want to secure the t-handle do not have to look for a solution!

1. Picture: The adapter before polishing and drilling the hole for the lock.

2. Picture: Adapter after welding to the luggage carrier (on three points bottom to the carrier) That means: Spare wheel unsecured!

3. Picture: The blocked t-handle (It can not be rotate because it is blocked by the lock)

First, your English is fine. I understood everything you wrote. Your solution is quite nice. Thank you for sharing.

Cheers,

Has anyone ever had a spare wheel stolen? I think this is a solution to a non problem, makes the rear carrier look ugly.

Read on here this week there is one case "on the record"....suspected to be opportune drunks.

On my 4 seater the luggage rack makes it difficult to remove without spanners....there under the bonnet and secured with a belt buckle and the catches. Should fool the most ingenious thief!
