Dear Brian,
The colour is a mix between Copper and Brown with a strong metallic touch. This is a Lexus colour and was developped only for the Australian and Middle Eastern countries. Actually, very rare as it is not a standard colour but on request. In the Middle East, car owners prefer the white than darker colours. It shines a lot when lit by the sun and in reality it often turns to be much lighter than on the picture. This colour is deep and varies greatly depending on the brightness but does not have a pearl effect.
I drove it back to Geneva along with my wife. Insuring the car was pretty difficult especially because I do not have an address in UK. Without the strong support of my insurer it would have been mission impossible. Getting the UK plates was easy, thanks to the Morgan Factory. Previously, I have driven Caterham and Donkervoort which are extreme cars. In the Aero 8 I feel like sitting in a fast yacht. In fact, the feeling is personal and it all depends what one used to drive before the Aero 8. Usually, my favorite playground is the mountain but I did not have the chance to test it there. So I still have to explore the driving feeling in tiny bends. However, the car is fast and the speed can be achieved effortlessly. I do not find it demanding when driven fast on easy road. The only strange feeling is the lack of precision of the steering wheel around the Zero point (when the wheels are straight). When entering fast in a roundabout I have to correct the turning point because of this "floating" effect. Do you see what I mean ?
Brakes seems to be unkillable, strong & reactive. Top I believe even on a track. The Automatic is a pure delight and no regret at all vs the mecanical version. I am desperately waiting for my 4 exhaust pipes which I miss a lot at present time. The car is soundless. 50 % of the pleasure is missing. Well, those are my first impressions at the wheel for the time being. Very happy of this acquisition in any case !
Hope to see you soon.
Cheers
JP
