I remember that car well, even though I haven't seen it for at least 10 years. That must have been your first Morgan, before you acquired some rarer ones. I'm glad to see that you still own it.

Yup Pat, it's still in the garage. Finally going to convert it to gasoline. Been burning propane since I bought it new from Bill Fink in 1981. I have about 90K miles on it, all propane. Propane is so difficult to find now that conversion is the only real option. Actually I changed Avatars to remind me to get on with the conversion. I hope to start this week. Hope all is well with you and the girls. Come south sometime.

Cheers,

Mark- it sounds like you put a lot of miles on a propane MOG. I am new to an 89 4/4 and am finding it reluctant to start. Wondering if there is a technique? Do you turn switch on and wait for a period of time before cranking? Do you pump the pedal?

Conversion to gasoline is complete. My only issues were related to the coil and ballast resister. I first went without and then went back to it. But my car wanted this configuration.

However, you should have the CHV engine. Fuel injected and usually very happy. Not sure what trouble you might be experiencing. Strong battery and starter are a necessity. Make sure you have fuel flowing, nothing plugged to the FI. And make sure you have a spark to the plugs. Other systems??

Cheers,

Mark

Sorry, I didn't realize that you still were running propane. You should experience good starts. No need to wait for fuel to flow to the carbs. It should be there as it is a pressurized system. The battery and starter should be strong. Spark to the plugs is key. What is the ignition system on your car. Electronic or Points??? I am sure it is something simple.

Cheers,

Mark

Not fuel injected. Leanburn version of CHV with carb.
