LMC 2016 Part 2

A few more from the weekend.

It was interesting to watch the different lines through the Dunlop curves from the drivers. A deeper entry was faster in and slower out , but did allow for out-braking the opposition on the entry. The faster line was a more acute entry, but left the door open from a late-braker, but gave a much cleaner exit allowing the power down earlier and therefore made overtaking before the bridge a bit easier.

PS I took over 200 photos which I have not yet edited or processed, so please excuse the slightly "raw" treatment , but I thought it would be nice to display them while they were fresh in people's minds.

Just a thought.

Great call Colin, expect Jo and I would be up for that.

We met a couple at the portes aux circuit bar and they had rented an apartment in LM on the tram line, sounded ideal. May have to start planning soon for next years main race, depends on a possible trip to aus in November next year which is yet tbc.

Glad I didn't take my car up to the vinmog area, the dust was incredible.

The MOG was never as dusty as on Saturday (when I left the interior uncovered - and cleaned it on-site before leaving the place... eek).
On Sunday I had put the tonneau cover (as you can see on picture 2 - 007 is the ex-black car).
So the dust on the VINMOG area (and most of the other parking areas) was really a downside to me.
A pity that the ACO wasn´t able over the years to pave the areas around the track step by step (I think they made enough money with the track over the decades...).

Nevertheless the hospitality and the organisation of Quentin, Anne and Terry were fantastic! Thanks a lot to them!

The higlight was clearly the circuit drive on Saturday morning. The Black Devil was in a good shape and the ride was quite fast and we were in a good company of sports cars of all "colours". Especially the duel with a rather hot TR4 was thrilling - and finally won by the MOG. thumbs

All in all a fantastic weekend with lots (!) of impressions and a great experience.
A total of 1.550 kms covered.

Kind regards,

George

P.S.: Yesterday was the great cleaning day (body + wheels) with the helping hands of my dad. Interior and engine bay are to come on the weekend.
