Our drive for 2571 meter above sea level

I had the friends of my 3 daughters out for a test run last weekend.
Driving the Grossglockner Hochalpen Street was a good excuse to check their characters. We covered 1600km in 2 ½ days and experienced sunshine, frost, rain and storm on great roads. It was fun! The boys are OK. ;-)
The 3rd picture with all 4 of us: the Edelweisspitze at 2571m. Frost in mid July...

Well done! Now I know what you meant about "climbing hills". I think you've learnt the art of understatement.

I can strongly recommend a trip to the Grossglockner on the Hochalpenstrasse. I drove it several times with cars and bikes and it is one of the highlights of motoring in Austria.
On a sunny weekend the road may get a little bit crowded, than it is better to drive in the morning or in the evening. In spring and autumn you have to check if the road is open. In winter they close down because of many meters of snow.
For me the nicer side for the uphill part is starting north, driving from "Bruck an der Glocknerstrasse" direction "Heiligenblut". The opposite direction is maybe more scenic but less interesting for driving. (my personal opinion)

It is pretty easy you type your caption in the text box as shown in the attached file. You must do it before you click on the "Add file" button. You can not add captions after you have added the file.

I hope adding an image file as an attachment does not cause any problems confused2

PS. No. The attachment did not show up so I will make a new post here
