BORN IN 1982

Hi all,
Yesterday my VW Beetle had a pressing need of a mechanical control, so, my usual machine shop being closed for summer holidays, I decided to look for a new one.
Finally when I found it, a pleasant surprise was to see a green Morgan 4/4 in the garage for repairing. It was a 1982 4/4 model, Ford 1600 c.c.; in another room of the garage, under a cover, there was another Morgan 4/4 model, red colour, older than the green one, with black interior and bench-seat. So I discovered that the garage is a specialist in repairing old English cars, particularly MG, Jaguar, Triumph and Morgans. The boss said me that in Pesaro there are only four or five Morgan Sportscars, so it is very difficult to see them on the road.
Curiously my VW Beetle and the green Morgan 4/4 were born the same year, but I must say that my car is in better conditions, especially the interior conditions.

Ciao

My guess is a Mexican built VW 1200L.

My first car was a 1303S. They share the same large back lights.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Aloha, all! It looks like I'm at least 7 years late to the 1982 Birthday Party, but I do have a question for you all. My 1982 4/4 has the Ford CVH engine (not crossflow) which was shared with the European Ford Escort XR3. See the data below:
"Escort XR3 1598 81 Weber 32/34 DFT 4B NON DISPONIBLE." I have the exact carburetor as shown in the Escort data, and I'd like to replace it with a Weber 32/36 DGEV. I've seen quite a few references to using this carburetor on the Fiat engines, but almost none for the Ford CVH engines. Does anyone know whether the Weber 32/36 on my stock CVH engine will perform adequately and/or out perform the stock 32/34 DFT? And, finally, is it true that Ford and Morgan got in a spat in 1982, and thus only about 1,650 4/4 cars were produced with the CVH engine, before Morgan switched to Fiat? Thank you so much (Mahalo nui loa). Robert, Volcano, Hawaii
