1965 Earls Court Motor Show
Met with an old school friend recently & he had a copy of the Motor magazine, the special edition for the 1965 motor show, dated w/e 23rd October. He apparently went to this as a 15 year old. Looking through it, we came across various Morgan details which after 50 years make fascinating reading which I thought others also might enjoy.

There appears to be a plethora of plus four super sports about. I don't think I've ever seen or heard about the plus four competition model other than in factory literature. Anyone on TM own one? Taffmog, Have a look here: https://morganhistoryinfo.sharepoint.com/Pages/PlusFourSuperSports.aspx

Thanks Digimap. I am aware of the super sports but the competition model had a steel body as opposed to the alloy body of the super sports. The engine was a standard TR4 with a four branch manifold. Apparently around 40 cars were made.

Apropos of nothing, it was 40 years ago this month that I joined Motor. How many words written, how many cars driven? More to the point, how much fun had? Oh and you have a double...in the USA. Thousands of words written, roughly 100 cars a year driven during my time on the magazine (seven years). And yes a huge amount of fun, among a lot of other things. I remember with pleasure working with some really talented people, especially Roger Bell and Rex Greenslade, but many others also. I have no links with LinkedIn and in my case the reference to "Western Herbal Medicine" could mean only vino rosso.
