Mystery Rubber Cap Found in Engine Bay
More Help Needed Please.
I wonder if anyone knows where this Black Rubber Cap could have been located in the Roadster Engine Bay?
I found it wedged between the Brake Servo and the Bulkhead when examining the Roadster 100 today
It is 2.5cm long with a 1cm internal diameter.
It has the name 'Mosscap' impressed in one side and '60' impressed in the other side.
The Eyelet at the closed end implies that it should be attached somewhere.

My bet is that it's a blanking cap for an unused tube or pipe of some description. Is there anything coming out of the bulkhead directly above where you found it? Overflow from the heater matrix maybe? If you google "mosscap rubber", the second link is : http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=710157which might give a clue?

Frank Mosscap is a part made by a company called Moss Plastic Parts, They make a huge selection of plastic and rubber parts. As already said these are quite often used as protectors for tube ends. Maybe this is from something the factory has fitted and this got left in the engine bay.

It might be the rubber boot from the end of the steering rack. Edited to add, no it's not, I've just read the size it's too small.
