Nut Cracker Tool

Had a slow puncture over the winter & had to get the wheel off.
Tried the old "hammer" trick with no luck so had to go to a expert !!!!

These bad boys are the business I have one which I use in conjunction with my socket for the Centrelocks I have on my Plus8.

Standard bar and socket.

Centrelock socket with 600mm bar welded on to give the correct torque for tightening.
I use the tubed handle section of the standard bar to untighten slipped over the solid bar.

I'll just nip out and measure it.
Total length 1,500mm.

I know MG spares make one - this one came from Millers in UK and is pretty heavy so freightage to you would be expensive.

I've never been happy with the hammer solution - it's a disaster waiting to happen.

As you can probably tell by the photograph John the standard bar only uses the factory supplied flat spanner welded with strengthening pieces added to it.

Very impressed with the Bentley suit thumbs.

Other option is a socket and breaker bar - should be available locally.

Check out large spanner on web site Oldtimer-Zentrum.com, they may have what you need.

The solution is to gently heat the nut with a heat gun.....it'll come off then.
An when you retighten it......a couple of whacks with the hammer is all that's needed.

Millers web site

http://www.millercommercialmotors.co.uk/

Brian & Ann who owned it are keen Morganeers. They are now retired but the garage continues service Morgans.

When I had wires I had their tool which is excellent.
