I was at the Silverstone Classic weekend and watched a demonstration of this product, very impressive, but has anyone got any experience of it?

I have used a similar product, Puncturesafe, in the tyres on my M3W. It has been in them for 4 years, 13000 miles, with no detrimental effects, no punctures either !
The only down side was when replacing the front tyres, because of wear, I had used it in the tubes and the wheels could not be balanced so I had to have new tubes as well as tyres.

After a rear puncture on last year's 'Goggles & Gauntlets' which resulted in a humiliating trip home from Dorset to Leicestershire courtesy of the AA, I too decided to investigate these products. After some research, I plumped for OKO because they offer different formulations for different tyre sizes rather than a 'one size fits all' approach. Also, they are used by the UK armed forces and emergency services which is a good enough endorsement for me!

I used the green 'motorcycle' product on the fronts and the blue 'On Road 4x4' product on the rear. I haven't noticed any difference to the way the car drives - just a warm, fuzzy, peace of mind feeling while driving!

Given Tarka has no spare and I really wouldn't like to have it hauled on to a truck I wondered if OKO might work, but they do not recommend for 40 profile tyres or lower and also not with V, W, Y or Z rated tyres. So that rules out Tarka.

My next thought is that when I change the tyres I'll fit Dunlop Run Flat tyres and fit a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Well that rules my Aero +8 out then which is a great pity as we are looking to do a trip to Lake Como next year after the LMC and was looking for peace of mind.
On a separate note I had the opportunity to have a good look at a Triumph Thruxton whilst at the Silverstone Classic weekend and fell in love with it but SWMBO said NO!
Well you cannot win them all mores the pity.

I'm going to fit the TPS monitoring system from Tyre Pal,
This LINK gives all the details, for around £100 it seems reasonable.
The dash mounted unit is Size 84 (L) * 66 (W) * 23 (H)mm and 6,6 cm will just fit on the dash.

It will, at least warn me of any deflation.

Then when I have to change the tyres I'll fit the latest run flat tyres from Dunlop.

As to the Thruxton 1200 R I didn't ask...

I suffered somewhat..

But the boss has accepted that it was something I had to do. I think she has got over of it.

I prefer a pressure gauge!
My parent's car has a built in monitoring system which flashes up occasional warnings for no good reason as does the one in my Fiesta. Also, when I fitted winter tyres on rims without pressure senders in them it did flash up a warning but took about three weeks and a few hundred miles to notice and flash up a warning

Have had run flats on a Merc (and weirdly seen them fitted to a Lotus Elise which is insane as Elise tyre are specifically designed for them with thin supple sidewalks to match the suspension) , the side walls are hard as nails and they are noisy. I would not have them again by choice Peter.

Be careful of Autoseal.
If your car is with an internal Tyre Pressure Monitoring System you may find that Autoseal may block the sensor.
Check with the car maker!
