It's worse.

If this is the real thing, my English is too weak to explain all the things I don't like in it: Veryon grill, Chris Bangle sides, BMW "Gina"lights...

Have I heard the word "caricature"?

Sorry, this is not what I imagine to be a modern Mog.

Either the picts are bad or the the car is not, well..
I hope this is due to the color pattern.

Personally I like it, though I think the rear view works particularly well with hints of LIFECar and AeroMax. From the front, the grille looks fine (though a bit derivative of a Veyron), but the headlamps are too small and consequently, the car has lost some of the Morgan face which is part of the DNA I think. The grille somewhat over-powers the front view imho.

From the side, the strakes allow a vestigial running board which maintains the Morgan look and these also integrate well with the front cooling inlets.

The side-mirrors are also a more modern and svelte version of the mirrors on the AeroMax, and there are many other hints to the design language of previous Morgan's.

Lastly, I think that we should remember that at this stage this still remains a design study (a clay-model to be precise) and there will be much tweaking of the design between now and when they order the Superform dies in at least another 18-months. See how the production targa panels of the Aero SS were very different from the protoype version, to give but one example.

All in all, I think a great achievement from Matt Humphries in moving the Morgan Heritage onwards, but I am awaiting to hear what Gerwyn thinks of it and already hunkering down waiting for the onslaught. hide

Loads of Morgan DNA, but too much still left to the imagination from all the photos. I really really want to see it in the metal before considering swapping my p&j.

And..................will it have 3 windscreen wipers?????

Yes, it looks like a Bugatti Veyron from the front.

I hope so...

Imagine it with an other grill, in the continuity of the bonnet, and less agressive front lights... smile

I'm afraid they didn't Steven, they leaked the press pack (you can see all the images here ). I'll be interested to see if MMC take a dim view of this as they clearly state the embargo period (in the release AND printed on the front of the actual CD) as well as lead the press release with a warning about breaking the terms.

I'm not an expert on clay or aluminium, but it felt more like aluminium to me!

I'm taking the Fifth Amendment on this at the moment Brian, purely because my thoughts change by the minute. I acknowledge all the comments about 'Veyron-esque' grills etc but if it works, then that's fine. On the other hand, I'm quite a fan of some of Chris Bangle's stuff so that doesn't kill it for me either.
My concern is, I guess, the point that Robbie made and we've debated quite a lot in various posts- that with the clientele base shift which this might bring will there be an influx of buyers who won't be sympathetic to the foibles of hand- built supercars despite all the good will and attention the Fcatory will give them post purchase. If that does happen, then I think MMC will suffer a big hit from what will ( justifiable or not) be very adverse publicity

I do hope it works and I wish MMC every success with what in looks terms is a bit of a stunner. On a personal level, I'll do some quiet thinking over the next few weeks before I say anything more thumbs

regards,
G

It sounds as though it has passed the GLLHG test, so that's good news. flag wine flag
