Just got my dashboard back from Classical Dash. They removed the old lacquer leaving the original veneer in place. The main issue was the edge around the central panel which had cracked and broken away. They also cut a hole for me to add a clock, something I missed off the options list in 1981!
It's been subjected to a lot of heat and sunlight over the years.

Does anyone know where to get a nice replacement for the horrible plastic shroud that goes behind the wheel over the stalk switches?

It depends on the car.
Earlier cars then Hearts of England sell a stainless steel replacement.

Later cars you can get them leather covered by Allon Whites.

You can get such a part in stainless steel from Morgan Austria. The parts are different depending on the year of construction.

CJB - I'm taking my 1989 dash to ClassicDash on Monday to have done exactly what you have had done, and for the same reason (including having a hole drilled for the clock, although I am the third owner not the orginal).

When I spoke with him yesterday he said that he had just finished a Morgan dash. I never expected to see it on TalkMorgan the next day.

Have you been to his workshop before? Two tips: Make sure Ian knows you are coming so there is someone there! Have a look on Google Earth and plan your route, you need to approach from the Stokenchurch (NE) side of the M40 and then take the private farm track that goes under the motorway. PM me if you wish. Williams also offer a service to cover the shroud in leather. I had mine done there and got a good colour match (always a possible problem)
