New Morgan EvaGT Coupe 2+2 at Malvern
I had the pleasure of viewing the new Morgan EvaGT 4 seater coupe at the Morgan Motor Company factory. Pictures simply to not convey how beautiful and captivating this car is - it has immense presence.

Excellent photos Simon, especially with the Aero as comparison. Still not prepared yet to swap my p&j, I do think the design from paper to a physical example is fantastic for the next Morgan Generation. So, 18 months still to go in the development stage - I would like to see the grill as a more traditional shape (presumably it is blind as in Aero?), a decision on where the front number plate is going to go and how would you open the bonnet? With the current lines it looks as if it can only open forward.
I'm also a little concerned with the factory literature that states a USP as being "minimal shutlines"........oh good, the doors close properly then?
(sorry, got my product manager's hat on) The latest literature states: "It is unlikely that the pre-production cars will be available for at least 12 months for viewing or road tests" I am aware that they have a chassis mock-up with the engine configuration; however, this is only one part of the development process. As for "minimal shutlines", from conversations with the factory there is a strong emphasis on producing sustainable and more environmentally friendly products (reduced weight and decreased wind resistance / drag are excellent ways to contribute to this commitment); therefore, I would attribute that statement to this commitment. There are features that may be difficult to put into a production - for instance, the mirrors are quite small and delicate and I wonder if these will pass EU size regulations - but many of the areas I had concerns regarding feasibility on the production version (headlights and rear lights), MMC already seem to have ideal working solutions for. I am really looking forward to seeing the first pre-production demo.

Wow, I must admit that £80k now seem like good value, its amazing looking and seems to have hugh road presence. Looking at the side profile, I do wonder the so-called +2 would only be a token bench type seat with barely enough room for a couple of baby seats... Front number plate could be mounted on the bumper,and I think it would still look good. Small mirrors could pass the EU regulation, if production is less than 500/yr (I think?), but I think it would be completely impractical to use(Ariel Atom has tiny mirrors, and its not a kit car!!) My main concern is whether its electrics would be on par with other regular production models from other manufacturers  Even then, I would not hesitate to put my deposit down, only if i have the money

Rumour has it that the STIG is your love child?
