Winter at Dunnottar Castle

Have to confess to being a wimp...three wheeler is all ready to go and is sitting under its covers in the garage waiting for some slightly better weather. Had a wander out today in the little Fiesta to Dunnottar Castle to see if I could catch any of the atmosphere of the place before I go back to work on Monday. The atmosphere was certainly there, and was going past at a fair old rate of knots with some lovely snow squalls thrown in for good measure.

Glorious photo Calum...

I've been there back when Mum and dad lived in Dyce, it was somewhere we took visitors!

Did you walk over to the castle to get some photos of the sea on the rocks???

Not this time, castle was closed due to the weather and they'd roped off the stairs down as well, bit over kill but they did look a bit icy. Main reason for not hanging around too long was not really being as dressed for the occasion as I should have been...if I'd taken the Three Wheeler it wouldn't have been a problem!

Read the history of the Crown Jewels and this castle very interesting . A Christian Fletcher pops up again. Stonehaven has some good Band B places .

Of course it is...but having just arrived back in Shetland for a couple of weeks work, it is possible that the corner is in fact the Nardo ring! crazy2

I fear you may be right. Sitting in the village square for a coffee on a sunny Saturday morning may be a few weeks away here in the Var. But at least the snow has all melted.
