Flying Scotsman Rally

The Flying Scotsman Rally came through the Penn House Estate near me yesterday, 110 pre-1948 cars en route from Brooklands to Edinburgh over 4 days. They held a time trial up the drive to the house. This was built with banked bends by the 5th. Earl Howe, a keen early motorist, winner of the 1931 Le Mans and co-founder of the BRDC.
I'm afraid I didn't get a photograph of the 1936 Morgan 4/4 driven by a Swedish team but here is a beautiful 1926 Bentley 3-4.1/2.
Lucky, lucky buggers!

I saw some of the Flying Scotsman Rally cars drive through our village this afternoon on the way up North. It was VERY wet, as were some of the occupants of the open cars. I hope my drive in the opposite direction on Sunday for the MTWC Opening Run at Brooklands will have better weather.
