The originals remove from behind the panel.

So if you have a spare wheel, take it off and you'll see how to start.

If you don't have a spare then the panel will have to be lowered to access the back.

I think I would have been tempted to exchange the bulb (filament) unit rather than the whole unit.

Thanks guys. I was gonna remove the lower panel, didn't think about removing the spare & looking!!!!
However, Gill at "bettercarlighting", where I bought the parts has offered to replace the units with LED bulbs.
Only problem is these units replace fog & stop lamps in one go, so I now need a "clear" lens to replace the RED fog glass. Any ideas where I can get that from???

Most Morgan dealers stock these. I got mine from Berrybrook.

I was considering these items. They give you twin white on reversing and twin red on fog switch
I do believe they are for the older rear valance design though with the larger lamp units

I do not get this. Isn't the rear fog light independent, just as the reversing light? I live in Norway, and at least here you can get both white and red LEDs. I have put a white LED in my reversing light, but so far kept the incandescent bulb in the fog light, as LED might be to intense. Two stop lights are combined with driving lights, they will be substituted with red combination LEDs. The third (cyclops) stop light will be substituted with a red non-combined LED. So, red LEDs behind red glasses, white LEDs behind clear glasses. All this is available here, so I guess it would be in Germany too. In any case, here is the Norwegian company: ekstralys.no. Website in Norwegian, but a bit GoogleTranslate could help.

Oh, I‘ve just made such a conversion.

If there is somebody interested, pictures are possible by email.

Sir John, if you need to buy another Hella replacement unit with clear lens try here via eBay, probably cheaper than via a dealer. No reason you cannot use a red LED behind red lens though. Just ensure the bulb replacements have a BA15s base.

However if you end up with both valance mounted lamps with clear lens you could consider dual reversing and fog lamps (fog priority) by looking at this thread. A lot more work as explained and you will need dual colour (red/white) BAY15d base LED's, but the main loom wiring is already in place for the dual lamps so you just need to add an extra cable each side within the existing 3 way plug.
