With the extra pictures I would say it's a "mischung".

However before that you could order a long door which meant just a long door not the other longer cockpit thingys

In previous posts I think you said that yours is a 1994 Plus 8 so it will have the pre-96/97 cockpit but could have a longer door

If it’s a 94 then it’s had quite a lot of customisation - dash (which is also why it might have a heated screen as the post 96/97 cars)

Also I think 94 Plus 8’s has a single exhaust (91-96) so that’s been customised as well

Just some thoughts

Stewart

The original post gave the build year as 1997 which is the crossover date from short to long door, which is why there is the possibility of this being a mixture of the two.
The twin exhaust would be standard

Must admit I don't follow your comments about being able to order a long door prior to 1997. I think Dave W's treatise covers the modifications from short to long door , and they are quite substantial from an manufacturing viewpoint and therefore not likely to have been available "to order" , but with MMC you never know.

Long doors came in in 97. My Aug 97 +4 was one of the last short door cars.
the easy way to tell is if it has demister vents it is a short door car.

When Roland first posted he said it was a 94 build, that threw me but you are right in a later post he’s corrected it to 97

Lifes Motors had a late 80’s Mog in which had a factory made long door on the drivers side only - it was featured on here a few years ago

I´m very sorry for that confusion thinking
In my first post I had written 94 but that was a mistake, SORRY. It´s a 97 and it doesn´t have any demister vents but a heated windscreen.
Does “Long Door” mean that the leg room is much longer? Because this one has such a big/long leg room that I´m sitting just perfect with my 1,97m. Before I bought it, I had a look to several V6 Roadsters / BMW V8 and the leg room was much shorter, it wasn´t comfortable for me at all to sit in these Morgans.

As soon as there will be a Morgan meeting, I will have a look to other Morgans to find out what it is. Maybe it’s what Richard called a “MISCHUNG” cheers

All the best, kwa heri

The leg room should be the same as the Roadster. The seats can be hard to move.

On a Long Door the rear crossmember has been flipped upside down. Lowering the Spring Perch. The seat has been modified to slide over the top of the Spring Perch giving more leg room.

Why not just measure the length of the door and compare it to some known examples?
