Visiting the factory earlier this week I came across this rather interesting l/h drive 4/4/ Sport waiting for despatch. Apart from a rather tasty folding screen and fittings for aeroscreens, the rear window of the traditional roof was what caught my eye!

maybe he uses a periscope, but could be solar panels for navigation?

Or it is going to a country where they still have a tax based on the size and amount of windows you have!

I must say that the window surround was in what appeared to be milled alloy....beautifully made.

Taxe on stupid things + LHD => France.

In the past we also had a taxe on "doors & windows", so, even if I never heard about a new ecological-carbon-und so weiter taxe about rear windows on convertible cars, it could be largely possible.

Hmmm. I quite like to actually be able to SEE out of the rear window. The wing mirrors are poor and I would think rear vision for this driver will be severely compromised.

I also note the painted wire wheels have old-stye lead weights hammered onto the outer rim flange. This is a recipe for damage to the finish and subsequent corrosion, and they are also ugly. I would be really unhappy if that was my car. Surely they could use stick-on weights on the inner rim?

You can get some reusable brass weights that screw onto the spokes or lead that is squeezed onto the spokes. They (the brass) will darken by themselves or you could paint them.

Somehow, I can't get used to those round reflectors. They may look "appropriate" because everything on the cars is "round" but I personally prefer "classical" ones. Or even more the "under wing" ones initially used on the Sport. Very discrete. I wonder why they stopped using those.

I certainly see your point, but I wonder if it has something to do with height in relation to the lights and license plate?

I know there are rules to that effect for the third brake light, so perhaps it also dictates the reflectors?
