Unusual 4/4 Sport roof
Visiting the factory earlier this week I came across this rather interesting l/h drive 4/4/ Sport waiting for despatch. Apart from a rather tasty folding screen and fittings for aeroscreens, the rear window of the traditional roof was what caught my eye!

hahaha naa Im not Charles... although I wouldnt mind some of the cars I've seen him drive! :P hes a really nice, down to earth guy. I had to drive the simmonds car, only from where it was parked in the photo into the workshop but I refused to do it without someone watching me in! (had the michael taken at first but everyone admitted they wouldnt of done it without someone watching, the rear view mirror being on the dash board was also very strange and imo I couldnt use it. Matt is part of development and design team, him and the other guys in that department created the supersport, the eva GT, plus 4 supersport and I believe he was involved in the aero 8 and max, If my memory is correct he has the head of development (maybe slightly similar) title, I started working for the company just as the max was ended production so I cant be 100% regarding his involvement. hahaha the cravat question did make me laugh, Im not sure on that tbh but I wouldnt put it past him! he does have some outfits shall we say but maybe it seems more extravagant to us lot as we all wear morgan uniform and he doesnt? thanks for the warm welcome though guys! abit daunting for me being among so many morgan heads, Im only 20 too so some of you guys probably have morgans older then me! haha

I row a lot in my little guide boat. Which entails a lot of looking over my shoulders as I go along.
I think the twisting of the spine to look behind will come in handy when the 3W arrives. I might be able to do without a rear view mirror (I tried today in our lupo, and it works splendidly even when driving on smaller roads).
Perhaps I can do with the small bullet mirrors with a curved glass.

The secret is to drive fast enough not to have to worry about what's behind you...as long as its not a flashing blue light!
On the issue of mirrors I've just replaced my original one with a smaller one from Librands and its made a huge difference to rear vision. Not sure how it'll be at night as it has no dipping function but its that function that causes problems with the original mirror, as it has done with all my past soft tops, namely a secondary image due to light hitting it from above.

...a bit daunting for me being among so many morgan heads... You'll fit right in, don't worry about it! I'm only 20 too, so some of you guys probably have Morgans older than me! haha Err, yes, but I've only owned mine for coming up to 6 years... Been an enthusiast for the marque for a lot longer than that though... Cheers,

I wonder if one could make a clip-on night-thingy for the mirror. I was thinking something along the line of those clip-on sunglasses, or perhaps like a flip-up visor (or flip down on the mirror)? You'd need a sprung hinge and a piece of cut smoked plexiglass or real glass. It ought to be possible to do something like that with ordinary handtools. And you won't have a ghost image constantly.

Most vans and trucks have no rear view mirrors, just side ones

True, but they're a tad bigger and therefore less likely to be overseen by some BMW or white van driver.
