Apparently there was another nearby that was about twice as long.... was washed away in 2015. It was a nice drive over the "hump" of the blueridge

You have some lovely roads and scenery to wander in ....not to mention the weather .... it's been such a tease here ....an unusually fine spring ...and only allowed to drive for essential journeys ..... things will look up though

Having visited Virginia, it does have some lovely back roads, built for the Morgan's.

RC Matt - while you are out enjoying the good weather....post some more pictures!

Thanks,

Tom

I wish I was actually out more. I am the program director of a family medicine residency so I am at work all week. When we are out on the M3W we do not stop anywhere for lunch or coffee, and I have a bleach/water spray bottle for things like the gas station. Although I noticed the parking lot of a restaurant/motel at Tuggles gap FULL of people and their motorcycles on Saturday. We just waved (from a distance).

Used to live in Charlottesville and was out on the Blue Ridge Parkway last summer, wishing I had my M3W instead of the rental car I was driving. Did a rotation in Roanoke and another in Salem back in the day, and can only imagine the fun you are having driving those back roads that have probably not changed much since then!

Yes. From Richmond area, school at UVA (with third year rotations at Roanoke Memorial and Salem VA back in 91-92), moved out to Chicago area to train, and have stayed here. Sadly, harder to find good driving roads out here. They exist but it is not the same.

....by the shade of the lonesome pine?

Great pics. We hired a car whilst spending hurricane season in Deltaville during a very hot 2005, and spent some time touring the area.
