A bit of light around the corner, perhaps?

I had heard of the term Chinese torture used in the past, and am beginning to think I may now have a modicum of understanding of it`s meaning, given the lockdown, and probable extensions and adding to that with me being on the wrong side of 70 thus no hint of escape..!

To add to all that, weather here in the normally wet West of Scotland has been unusually warm sunny and dry for lengthy periods of time. which all seems rather unfortunately coinciding at a time when an old man`s fancy stirs somewhat and turns to a degree of lusting after a bit of Morganeering...!!! Along similar lines I feel sad for those who may have planned a trip up West or indeed a run round the North Coast 500 dodging camper vans, who have very unfortunately missed out on the rare opportunity to enjoy the wonderful scenery and in unusually great weather conditions at this time of year, a great pity...sigh! HOWEVER on a brighter note, there may be some snow forecast over this coming weekend, but then it is a bank holiday so back to the "old normal" perhaps...?

Thought to post this pic I took a few years back while enjoying a drive in my old +8 in the countryside hereabouts, perhaps the Morgan equivalent of the saying there will be light at the end of the tunnel...?

Why do two of the best photographers here live and drive in Scotland??

A glorious photo, thanks for posting!

Beautiful photo! You definitely ought to submit it to Tcherek for her calendar.

WOW..! Somewhat overwhelmed with the replies..Also many thanks for taking the time to respond to the post.

Morph, that which I typed was tongue in cheek, for in reality my good lady and myself suffer no lockdown fever, living in the countryside just outside the edge of suburbia, and we seem to be able to re-stock as necessary with a minimum of human contact, (click and collect) a garden that feels too large when it comes to grass/hedge cutting and weeding, with an open outlook over a wide valley, oh, and lest I forget, a Morgan in the garage.. somestick hide

As for the quality of the pic.... Would it only be true that I had photographic skills...sigh! I am NO photographer, just an old dude with access to some reasonable kit... That pic was like so many of my pics just a lucky shot.. From a dull memory, it was captured with a Nikon D70s (Which Tim of this parish had at the time), the camera used as no more than a point and shoot device set on auto, thus I can claim no skill involved other than the framing..which it true of the majority of my pics taken over more years than I care to remember.. In my favour.. Since retirement I have always used manual settings and improved on the quality of my kit, which has not guaranteed in increase in the quality of my pics..sigh!

Steve and Rob, a couple of my pics have been used in a magazine article and Tcherek has used one or more in her calendar and others on her website, I will try to post the Calendar pic in this thread..though may have posted it in the galleries in the "Roads less travelled" series of pics which I posted a while back. I do hope that Tcherek has a recovery plan and that it is keeping her busy...I see her site is still up and running which is good to see.

Most of my good photos are luck, despite having some good kit.
My son is a photographer, it was one of his A Levels.
He can stand next to me, use my camera and take what should be roughly the same picture, but his is inevitably better, sometimes stunningly so.
He has no idea why his photos are almost "art" when mine are little more than snaps.

This is a lucky one...

Thanks Ivo, strange as it may seem you are strangely accurate in your description of the lakeside pic, as that particular stretch of water is in fact the only LAKE in Scotland...(-:

Peter J, dead right, I have seen pics captured on smart phones that are considerably superior to mine... Liked your image too, very imaginative indeed, great the way the light plays on the louvres.

I love the photo, but I hadn't realised just how good it is until I looked at it on a screen!!
Now a proper photographer would have seen the potential and captured the image!
