K, your puss looks very like the Scottish wild cat colouring..(-: Looking at your handbrake compensation mechanism, reminds me of a recent post displaying a reinforcing plate fixed/glued to the fuel tank to inhibit the compensator puncturing the tank in the event of a rear end collision. I know of one Morgan lost in the ensuing fire in just such an accident.

Luddite ....she did come from under a hedge as a palm-sized ball of claws and teeth ....she's mellowed over the years .... wildcat would have clear rings on the tail with no dorsal stripe to connect them .... there seem to be tabby/wildcat crosses up in this corner with nearly, but not quite, classic wildcat markings ..... whatever, she's perfect!! smile

Yep, have discussed the plate with TBM on another thread ... it will be fitted .... the tank is sat in place to free floor space in my workshop and keep out of the way ..... will be removing it when I refit the body to align the final fit of the bulkhead and only put fully in place before I do the last fit of the tub frame ....less chance some idiot will drop the tub on it and ruin it (but that's still a possibility smile ) it will be easier to fit while the tank is out.

Cheers

K

Amongst today's jobs I removed all the tacked on tin brackets and painted up the rocker cover .... Morgan sticker and it will do fine til I make my mind up about an alloy cover .... actually it's growing on me and somehow fits the 'road going vintage race car I could never afford in a million years' vibe I'm aiming for .... practical and clean but still has character.

Will need to find a bit of alloy (or brass ) stock and make a suitable filler cap ....the plastic Ford one is spectacularly ugly .... I know it just an oil cap and has a function but there was no need to make it so gratuitously unpleasant .... makes my eyes itch to look at it ....you can't see the true 'beauty' of it from this angle .... looks quite acceptable from here smile

I very much like the valve cover's new look, the Morgan wings make it happen.
Thinking I will be appropriating your idea!..... thinking

Looks really good, you’re right though, that cap has to go.

I agree with all the above comments.
Burton do a rather nice cap but you've probably already seen it, would save some time though not as satisfying as making your own.
