Erg Goed. My kids loved Sinter Klaas when we lived in in Den Haag. Not very PC these days I guess.

Schwarte Piet wouldn't allow the law to get int he way. Black Peter is Sinter Klaas' assistant and comes from Africa with oranges. He is very naughty & causes lots of misrule.

Great picture.
Rather ironic that we have an iconic British car complete with Union Flag leading a traditional Sinterklass parade in Belgium just as the British and EU leaders are trying to salvage some sort of deal to enable free (ish) trade to continue in the future.
Saw a documentary a while back, part of which was about the fight to keep the Sinterklass tradition alive. Quite a heated topic apparently.
