Boat build
Another experiment in photo posting, this photo was taken yesterday, if this works I will add earlier pictures of the build and bore you all.
Fantastic, it worked, now I can add earlier pictures if there's any appetite for them out in TM land. I might even do it there's not.π

I read once that the best times in boat ownership are the day you buy one and the day you sell it. Having said that, I would love a boat. I lived on a narrow boat once upon a time when I was a nipper, its not a rare accurance when I think of flogging the Mog to help buy a boat !
keep the pics coming Gordon. Nice to see a build in progress :-)

Well done Gordon, I suspect for some it can be simpler to build a boat than post pics on a forum... As one who ever thought myself to be a logical thinker, I seem to constantly struggle with the logic of programmers.. I have nothing but admiration for those who take on such physical and demanding tasks, and have both the skill and determination to complete them. Since I sold my Tupperware sloop I have occasionally sailed with a long term friend who is a very skilled individual and in so many ways. Over the years I have helped him with maintenance tasks on his Ketch, fiberglass it may be but built like a proper little ship, it has sailed across the Atlantic at least twice. My friend is dedicated to keeping ship shape, I took some pics when he was laying wood over the fibreglass deck, and what a wonderful job he made of it. Coincedentaly on the day I visited the shed to monitor his deck laying progress and give a hand, an octogenarian boat pal of his was working with a steam engine he made in his shed and assembling it in his boat alongside, all of which makes me feel guilty in that I seem to have run out of steam for taking on projects in the last six years or so... I also have plenty of pics of the decking process and steam engine, but have no wish to divert your interesting thread Gordon.

Glad to see you are progressing well with a target date set for completion... I don't think those who have not picked up a chisel or shaped a piece of wood can fully appreciate just how much craftwork goes into such projects as this. There is no better material than wood for boat building and the process is enjoyable from start to finish.. Trouble is that once its complete there is that anti-climax of seeing your creation on the water and it always looks so much smaller afloat than it did in the workshop.
Do share some more pictures with us.

Yes please, more of the same. Shame it's a "stink pot" you are building rather than a "stick and rag" but I love it all the same. Many years ago I built a winklebrig which was a gaff rigged sailing boat and I think I got as much pleasure from the building a I did from the sailing.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

Until I find time to organise some of the early photos here's some more recent ones for those of you kind enough to show an interest. This was a trial run of the deck lighting. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/12/22/IMG_20201212_173644.jpg) The helm position, a bit small but I've opted for a Raymarine screen that shows all the necessary information. I thought that would keep everything neat. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/12/22/IMG_20201123_115444.jpg) The shower room, which was the first to be completed. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/12/22/IMG_20201111_155114.jpg) Test fit of the cabin entrance. It's completed now (facings at sides etc) but not fixed in until I finish installation of steering and engine controls. I've made it to be easily removed in future incase of any engine issues. Don't want to be cutting through the hull to change an engine in the future. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/12/22/IMG_20201027_153610.jpg)

Nice workmanship.
Would you like to share some details on the design with us ? Is it one you have drawn yourself ? Length, displacement, engines etc ?
