Great Escape Gang eve before Christmas Eve drive
Despite a wet weather forecast we planned a drive to meet for lunch before Tier 4 inevitably hits Suffolk after Christmas. We met at the Two Magpies for coffee but drinking coffee outside in the drizzle wasn't good and one of team couldn't reach us due to floods around Bungay. So two Brooklands with a lead Mondeo headed to Ramsholt for a pub rumored to have under cover outside seating. Ramsholt ArmsThings didn't go well. The road was a tad wet enroute (sneakily I let Tony lead to check the depth of the puddles which came over the running boards) & the pub sadly had no under cover seating but the location is stunning. Not deterred we headed to my local the Mariners in Trimley where we had a heated marquee. Mariners FreehouseThe food was excellent including the rum & raisin bread & butter pudding. The Adnams Broadside slipped down very well. Roll on 2021.

Almost constant rain here since around 07:30 (I'd already done the last food shop before then). Not sure I'd have chanced the Saab through that "puddle" (warnings of a low air intake in the handbook - I must actually check where it is!). Pudding looks good

I was glad Tony was leading Graham.
Suffolk it has just been put into T4 from Boxing day. I am glad now we did this run in the rain.

I set off for this last meet up of the year and probably for a while into next year now due to T4 , and after getting petrol 10 mins into journey hit a flooded road on way to Halesworth , decided to abort , torrential rain the whole time and limited visibility but arrived back in one piece , damn weather ! 
Geneva 2016 plus 8' The Green Godess' 4 side exits .

Shame about the weather, high tide at 18.00 hrs could make it worse. Should have gone out on Sunday, it was a great day for a run up to the coast in the sunshine.

Well done on taking the last opportunity of 2020! I fully expect Gloucestershire to go into T3 or T4 next week. As it is, plans for Xmas have changed. Not going to usual "lunch". Just be self and Navigator on Friday. At least she's not expecting turkey!

Well done on taking the last opportunity of 2020! I fully expect Gloucestershire to go into T3 or T4 next week. As it is, plans for Xmas have changed. Not going to usual "lunch". Just be self and Navigator on Friday. At least she's not expecting turkey! Graham , what will you actually be having for Christmas lunch , will it include any sausages ?

Well done, that's real hard core motoring Thanks I really enjoyed it. Nothing like floods, mud on the road & heavy rain to add a frisson of excitement.
