Boat build

Another experiment in photo posting, this photo was taken yesterday, if this works I will add earlier pictures of the build and bore you all.

Fantastic, it worked, now I can add earlier pictures if there's any appetite for them out in TM land. I might even do it there's not.😂

It seems there are many who prefer to be working on boats as opposed to sailing in them, and I can well understand that from a variety of perspectives. Gordon when you type of just sitting it in the garden, I remember seeing a yacht sitting in a garden going gently green, it`s name..?.... SOMEDAY... Shows the owner had hopes or at least a sense of humour..

I kept my yacht at a marina for many years during which time the marina seemed to be more of a floating caravan park given the number of boats that might have been seen out and about in the very best of weather... Each to their own.

I can but applaud all your efforts, involvement of the team, and your obvious drive determination and craftsmanship Gordon, I suspect whether in time you use your boat a lot or a little matters not a jot in the grand scheme of things, it seems ever setting targets and achieving them brings a sense of self worth ..?

All I have to do is finish this moss removal task, having to wait till the un-freezes the moss to allow me to scrape and wire brush the tiles.... Given the time and physical effort involved, if employing others, I suspect one could have the roof re-tiled in a similar timescale, unless using the agent orange approach..? Sorry rambled my way off track..AGAIN.. hide oldgit

George, your analysis is spot on, it's always been more about the challenge rather than the usefulness of the end result. The choice of the canal mooring will give me best use of the boat I feel, I've really enjoyed canal boating holidays in the past, just like caravaning but with the added risk of drowning as someone once said.

Giles showed some interest in the deck hatch so as I was working on and around it this morning I've posted some pictures of how it is made. A school boy error on my part intending it to open onto the windscreen, wouldn't work so I've turned it but had to reduce the Hinge length and round the corners.

I'm up to video 12 of Leo's rebuild of Tally Ho and really enjoying watching him, this would have been worthy of a TV documentary I feel. Certainly better than a lot of so called TV entertainment on just now.
