I don't know if they were the same, but there is similarity. My Morgan was imported new to Canada back in 1985 and at that time, the company that imported a Morgan have to meet some security item. They weld a 1/4 inches steel plate to the bumper holder. A steel frame has been fitted inside each door, but nothing is visible.
