And for my next trick...

I am feeling mildly intimidated by this but I expect I shall get through it somehow.

Good morning it really is a simple home mechanic job, i did mine a couple of months ago, i removed the radiator grill and the bonnet, just give improved access when connecting the hoses, disconnecting the steering rack is easy but please dont make the schoolboy error i made , make sure before disconnecting the rack make sure the wheels are on blocks, and fix the steering wheel in place , i didnt fix it well enough and the steering rack moved slightly resulting in a slightly, im a little CDO, offset steering wheel.
One thing I have noticed with the new radiator is that the engine runs 8 to 10 degrees cooler, which is fantastic ,I still use the Mog for early morning runs in the Dubai summer when the outside temp is hovering around the 40 degree mark (Celsius)

Hi,

i changed the radiator on my 2009 4/4 last year. Because i had no chance to get it on a lift i've removed to cowl and installed it from top.
Was a little tricky but worked without removing parts from the steering.
But i have maybe a little more space because the airbox was replaced by an cold air intake.

In general the task was easier then expected (for a beginner).

Thanks for the useful advice. I shall consider all this before taking The Big Leap. Crap plastic rad is still working, so there is no urgency..

Lot of possible ways. I had the same thoughts about removing the track rods.
So i decided to remove the cowl and switched the radiator from the top. Was
a little narrow and maybe more work - but worked fine. Best for me, i was not
forced to touch steering components.

Btw: Same car - 4/4
