Boat build

Another experiment in photo posting, this photo was taken yesterday, if this works I will add earlier pictures of the build and bore you all.

Fantastic, it worked, now I can add earlier pictures if there's any appetite for them out in TM land. I might even do it there's not.😂

Look forward to seeing the pics - we've got a few days booked in Orkney (staying in Kirkwall) in October. Although doing the Fly/Drive option as I'm not good on boats. smile

Some good news and some not so good to report.
I got the trailer delivered and Charlene is slowly making her way out into the world at last. No problems getting the trailer into the shed using my Heath Robinson attachment on the ride on mower!

Slightly more difficult getting it out again with 3 ton of boat on it though. I'll need to remove the corner of the shed tomorrow to complete the job.

I also got the offer of a mooring at Dochgarroch Monday, this was my first choice but it's just a wee bit too early and I'm going to have to decline the offer and drop back to the bottom of the list. Ah well, the best laid plans as they say.

Impressive work Gordon, well done
Are you able to put another boat on as a "mooring minder" in the short term?
It would be a shame to miss the chance

Thanks OZ, the idea had crossed my mind and I did discuss it with my local chandler/ boatyard. Scottish canals have a pretty stringent set of rules regarding boat ownership and who occupies the berth. I think I would have to wholly own, insure and obtain a boat safety scheme certificate to use this option. I've not completely ruled it out but it's around £2000 for the mooring alone so current thinking is to wait until the boat is fully finished. I do get another two offers which I can decline but then your completely off the list and have to reapply.

Well, it sounds like you have it all under control Gordon. I must say 2,000 pounds for a mooring sounds petty good.
I had a mooring on Sydney Harbour years ago and it cost a lot more than that.....
Enjoy your wonderful craft

Brilliant progress Gordon, she looks very impressive emerging, just like a butterfly, what a lovely craft you have created.
Good luck with your mooring come the time.

Having read all your posts on your boat build to date Gordon, and observing the attention to detail and craftsmanship, I am pretty confident that you had a plan in place from the outset relative to all the processes of shed exit to launch... I have seen a couple of boat builds that required a degree of ingenuity and determination to reach water... If anybody can do it YOU can Gordon.. thumbs

Thanks all for the kind comments. Just got her out completely and it's the first time I've been able to view her from a distance.
I have a big window job on currently so really needed the extra space, hence the reason for doing it during working hours😁
Oldest son also had a few days off so could lend a hand. Here's another couple of pics.

It was still a tight squeeze even with the corner of the shed removed, still , better than taking the tree on the other side down.

I bet you can’t wait to get that on the water. It looks fabulous!

I think I will be on the river this evening to take advantage of the slight breeze -.
