We attended the Glamis extravaganza last Saturday. There were a few empty stands as Sunday is the main day I suspect. Above is a very small selection of things that caught my eye.

Nice photos and what a fabulous bike with sidecar.
I did a quick search with Google but could not find any information..

The sidecar at the scooter also must have been a lot of work. The result is not to my taste but the execution is great.

Some interesting creations there ..... bmgermany, the bike with the sidecar is a Scott .... 2 stroke water-cooled and very fast for it's time (to the point of it being a pity to chain it to a sidecar ... like a thoroughbred pulling a cart!! )... not sure about the colour choice (Mrs image is a real Scott fan and was not impressed with the pink at all!!🙂)

V8 Fergie would be a stump puller

Looks like a good day out Gordon

K

Ps ... I won't repeat what she said about the Scott colour scheme but it contained a number of words not from the Bible and the conclusion that a nice deep burgundy with a thin gold stripe would be better 🙂

Graham ... fortunately old Fergies aren't rare so I can indulge the odd novelty ... pity it wasn't a nice flathead Ford V8 ... much more appropriate.🙂

Mrs Image lived down the road from one of the last Scott dealers and as a child often pressed her nose to their window to view the bikes ... it started a lifelong affection for them ... I really don't know why we've never owned one ... when we lived in Yorkshire a guy in the village had a proper factory made TT replica .... speedy thing that astounded many a modern bike rider with its nippyness.

I think I have seen that V8Fergie on a tv prog. A farmer had done the mod and there was an interview and video of him driving it. It certainly covered the ground!

Image thank you for the informations!

I went by the tank decor and used the wrong keywords!

Originally I only looked at the pictures on my smartphone:
Mrs. Image is right about the pink!

I don't know the original colours - but there are a lot of photos with pink details on the web.

IMHO a green or red-brown colour instead af pink will suit the bike more...

bmgermany .... there were a few done in purple ... I think the one above may have been aiming for that and missed.🙂

Overwhelmingly they were black, nice dark red, cream and burgundy .... seen plenty in my time but never seen a purple or pink one 'in the wild' ... think it was a minority colour even back in the day.

Lovely bikes though ... I believe the engine was re-used in a modern frame under the name 'Silk' but never took off in any numbers.

K

Ps ... it may be that some modern restorers have fastened on the oddball colours to make their bike stand out from the crowd amongst the more numerous mainstream colours

Here in Germany your beautiful English motorbikes are very rare to see!
Especially "in the wild"!

The water cooling on such an old two-cylinder two-stroke was fascinating.

I recently remember seeing a (single-cylinder) DKW ZSW 500 built in 1928 in the Audi Museum (Ingolstadt).

And IIRC there is a Flying Squirrel in the Museum in Einbeck (Germany)- but two-cylinder Scotts ......

Glad the photos were of interest guys, I thought the pink Scott might provoke a reaction!! I thought the Honda engined Mini would as well, but nothing yet.
Graham, you might have been more forgiving of the Fergie if you'd heard it running, it sounded absolutely awesome 👍
And especially for you bm, here's a few more bits of British steel. Oh and I sneaked in one of my first moped. It ended up in the front end of a Ford tractor.
